URL parser
Parts, parameters and rebuilding
No database: AIMRAN doesn't store your files, text or results
What is URL parser?
Paste a web address and this tool splits it into its parts: protocol, domain, port, path, parameters and fragment. That way you can clearly see what data it carries, such as a campaign's utm tracking parameters.
You can edit any part, add or remove parameters and get the rebuilt, correctly encoded URL, ready to copy.
How to use it
- Paste the URL into the input field or use the example.
- Review the parts: protocol, user, host, port, path and fragment.
- Edit, add or remove query string parameters.
- Turn on “Spaces as +” if it's for a form.
- Copy the rebuilt URL, the readable version, just the query or the parameters as JSON.
Advantages
- Shows the parameters already decoded in an editable table.
- Rebuilds the URL with correct encoding.
- Exports the parameters as JSON.
- Free, no sign-up and no ads.
Technical details
Parsing uses the WHATWG URL standard via the URL and URLSearchParams APIs; if the protocol is missing, https:// is assumed. User, password, path and fragment are decoded for readability. When rebuilding, each path segment and each key and value are encoded with encodeURIComponent, and spaces can be expressed as %20 or as + (application/x-www-form-urlencoded). Repeated parameters are kept in order and those without a value are written with the key only. The summary shows the origin (protocol, host and port) and the total length.
Frequently asked questions
What are the parts of a URL?
Protocol (https), optional credentials, host or domain, port, path, query string with parameters after the ? sign, and fragment after the #.
What is the query string?
The part of the URL after the ? sign, containing key=value parameters separated by &, such as ?size=42&color=blue.
How do I remove utm parameters from a URL?
Paste the URL, delete the utm_source, utm_medium and similar rows with the remove button, and copy the rebuilt URL.
Why do spaces appear as %20 or as +?
Both are ways of encoding a space. %20 is the standard in URLs; + is used in form data. You can choose which one to use.
Can I convert a URL's parameters to JSON?
Yes. Click “Copy parameters as JSON” and you'll get an object with each key and its value.
