What is QR codes?

QR codes let you open a website, join a WiFi network or save a contact just by pointing your phone camera. With this generator you create yours in seconds and customize it with your colors and your logo in the center.

It also works the other way round: if you have an image or screenshot with a QR code, the tool reads it and shows you its content without having to scan it with your phone.

How to use it

  1. Choose “Create QR” and the content type: text or URL, WiFi, email, phone or contact.
  2. Fill in the details; the code updates instantly.
  3. Customize the color, background and margin and, if you like, add a logo.
  4. Choose the size and download the QR as PNG or SVG.
  5. To read a QR code, switch to “Read QR” and drag in the image.

Technical details

The matrix is generated with the qrcode library and supports the four error correction levels of the ISO/IEC 18004 standard: L (7%), M (15%), Q (25%) and H (30%); when a logo is added, level H is forced so it stays readable. Content follows the usual formats: WIFI:T;S;P;H for WPA, WEP or open networks (hidden ones included), mailto: with subject and body, tel: and vCard 3.0 with name, company, title, phone, email, website and address. The margin ranges from 0 to 10 modules and the PNG from 128 to 4096 px; the SVG uses crisp rendering (crispEdges). The tool warns you if the contrast between color and background is low. Reading QR codes from images uses jsQR.

No. They are static codes: the content is stored inside the QR itself and doesn't depend on any server, so they always work.

Choose “WiFi”, type the network name and password, and select the security type. When scanned, the phone will connect directly.

Can I put my logo on the QR code?

Yes. Add it under “Logo in the center” and error correction level H (30%) is used automatically so it can still be read.

Switch to “Read QR” and drag in the image or screenshot. If it isn't detected, crop the image around the code or use a sharper one.
