What is Markdown table?

Writing Markdown tables by hand is slow, and it's easy to get the pipes wrong. With this tool you copy cells from Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, paste them, and get the Markdown table instantly.

You can fix any cell, add or remove rows and columns, and choose each column's alignment. If you need it, it also gives you the table in HTML.

How to use it

Copy the cells from your spreadsheet and paste them, or paste a CSV or a Markdown table.
Check the detected delimiter or choose one manually.
Edit cells, add rows or columns and change alignment by clicking each header.
Choose Markdown or HTML output.
Copy the result or download it as .md or .html.

Technical details

Input is parsed as delimited text (tab, comma, semicolon or pipe, with automatic detection) or as an existing Markdown table, recovering its alignments. Rows are normalized to the same number of columns. Markdown output follows the GitHub Flavored Markdown table syntax, with the separator row indicating alignment (:---, :---: or ---:), and can be padded with spaces to align columns visually; pipes inside cells are escaped. HTML output produces a table with thead and tbody and per-column alignment. If the first row isn't a header, Column 1, Column 2… headers are added. The editor shows up to 100 rows. Files up to 5 MB.
