What is Extract pages?

When you only need a few pages from a long document, such as a certificate from a case file or a chapter of a book, the easiest thing is to pull them out into a separate file.

You choose the pages by clicking their thumbnails or typing their numbers, and decide whether you want them all together in one PDF or each in its own file. The original document is not modified.

How to use it

  1. Drag in the PDF.
  2. Select the pages on the thumbnails or type a range like “1-3, 5”.
  3. Choose the output: “Single PDF” or “One PDF per page”.
  4. Click “Extract pages”.
  5. Download the result or the ZIP with all the pages.

Advantages

Technical details

Extraction copies the selected pages with pdf-lib into a new document, without rasterizing, so they keep selectable text, fonts and original images. Pages are included in ascending order; in “One PDF per page” mode each file is named with its original page number (document-p5.pdf) and they can be downloaded together in a ZIP. Accepts PDFs up to 200 MB.

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract one page from a PDF?

Open the PDF, click the page you want and click “Extract pages”. You will get a new PDF with just that page.

Can I save each page as a separate file?

Yes. Choose “One PDF per page” and download all the files in a ZIP.

What is the difference between extracting and splitting?

Extracting pulls out only the pages you choose. Splitting divides the whole document into several parts by ranges or every so many pages.

Is the original PDF modified?

No. A new document is created with the chosen pages and the original stays the same.
