What is Voice recorder?
This recorder lets you record your voice with your computer or phone microphone and download the result straight away. Use it for voice notes, rehearsals, voice-overs or messages.
You can pause and carry on recording, choose which microphone to use and watch a level meter to check you can be heard clearly. Each recording can be downloaded as is or converted to MP3 or WAV.
How to use it
- Choose the microphone in the side panel, or leave the default.
- Click Record and allow microphone access.
- Use Pause and Resume if needed, and click Stop when you are done.
- Listen to the recording in the list.
- Download it in its own format or convert it to MP3 or WAV.

Technical details
Capture uses getUserMedia and MediaRecorder at 128 kbps, with echo cancellation and noise suppression turned off so the voice is not altered. The native format depends on the system: WEBM or OGG with Opus on most devices and M4A on some Apple devices. The meter calculates the RMS level over a range of −60 to 0 dB from an AnalyserNode. Conversion to MP3 (LAME, 192 kbps) or WAV (16-bit PCM) is done with ffmpeg. Files are named grabacion-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS. Works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
Frequently asked questions
How do I record my voice online?
Click Record, allow microphone access, speak and click Stop. The recording appears in the list so you can play and download it.
Can I download the recording as MP3?
Yes. Each recording has buttons to download it as MP3 or WAV, as well as in its original format.
Why isn't my microphone working?
It is usually the permission. Enable it from the padlock icon next to the page address. The microphone may also be in use by another app.
Can I pause the recording?
Yes. Click Pause and then Resume; everything stays in the same file.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in current versions of Chrome or Safari for mobile, as long as you allow microphone access.
