What is Merge audio?

This tool joins several sound files into one: songs for a continuous mix, parts of a podcast, several voice notes or the takes of a recording.

You put them in any order by dragging them and choose what happens between one and the next: nothing, a few seconds of silence, or a crossfade for a smooth transition.

How to use it

  1. Upload two or more audio files.
  2. Reorder them by dragging each track.
  3. Choose the transition (None, Silence or Crossfade) and its length.
  4. Select the output format and quality.
  5. Click Merge and download the file.

Advantages

Technical details

Each track is normalized with ffmpeg to 48 kHz floating-point stereo (aresample and aformat) so mixed files can be combined. With no transition they are joined with the concat filter; with silence, padding is added with apad at the end of every track except the last; with crossfade, acrossfade filters with a triangular curve are chained, limiting the length to 90% of the shortest track. The result is encoded to the chosen format (MP3, PCM WAV, OGG Vorbis, OGG Opus, M4A AAC or FLAC). Accepts audio and video up to 300 MB per file.

Frequently asked questions

How do I combine several MP3s into one?

Upload the MP3s, put them in order by dragging, choose MP3 as the output and click Merge. You will get a single file.

Can I merge audio files in different formats?

Yes. You can mix MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG and others; they are matched before being joined.

What is a crossfade?

It is a transition where the end of one track fades down while the next one fades up, overlapping for a few seconds.

Can I leave a gap of silence between files?

Yes. Choose Silence and set the length between 0.5 and 10 seconds.
