What is Favicon generator?

The favicon is the small icon that appears on the browser tab, in bookmarks and on a phone's home screen when someone saves your website. Every site needs several sizes, and preparing them by hand is tedious.

With this generator you upload your logo once and get all the files ready in a ZIP, along with the code to paste into your site. You can add a background color, round the corners or leave some padding around it.

How to use it

  1. Drag in your logo, ideally square and at least 512 px (SVG works too).
  2. Adjust the padding and, if you like, turn on a colored background with rounded corners.
  3. Type the site name and the theme color for the manifest.
  4. Check the preview and click “Generate favicons”.
  5. Download the ZIP and paste the HTML code inside the head tag.

Technical details

PNGs are generated at 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 180 (apple-touch-icon.png), 192 and 512 px (android-chrome-192x192.png and android-chrome-512x512.png). The favicon.ico is an ICO container with 32-bit PNGs embedded at 16, 32 and 48 px, a format supported by all current browsers and by Windows Vista or later. The site.webmanifest includes name, short_name (12 characters), the 192 and 512 px icons, theme_color, background_color and display standalone. The icon is fitted in contain mode inside a square canvas, with padding from 0% to 30% and a corner radius from 0% to 50% (circle). Accepts JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, BMP, GIF, HEIC and SVG up to 20 MB.
