What is Resize?
Many websites, online stores and social networks require images with specific dimensions, and a photo 4000 pixels wide is too big for almost anything. With this tool you resize one or more images by entering the width and height you want, or simply a percentage.
If you keep the aspect ratio, the image doesn't get distorted: you type the width and the height is calculated automatically. You can also change the format at the same time and download all the images at once.
How to use it
- Add one or more images by dragging them in or with Ctrl+V.
- Choose “Pixels” mode and type the width or height, or use “Percentage”.
- Leave “Keep aspect ratio” on so they don't get distorted.
- Choose the output format and, for JPG, WEBP or AVIF, the quality.
- Click “Resize” and download the images one by one or as a ZIP.
Advantages
- Batch resizing: each image fits inside the width × height box without distortion.
- High-quality scaling that avoids jagged edges when shrinking a lot.
- 25%, 50%, 75%, 150% and 200% shortcuts for speed.
- Format change in the same step, no sign-up and no watermarks.
Technical details
Pixel mode accepts 1 to 20,000 px per side; with the aspect ratio locked, each image is fitted inside the width × height rectangle (if you enter only one, that one rules). Percentage mode ranges from 1% to 400%. To downscale, successive halving steps with high-quality smoothing are applied, which avoids the aliasing of an abrupt reduction. EXIF orientation is respected and HEIC files are decoded before processing. Output can be the original format, JPG, PNG, WEBP or AVIF (the latter only if the system can encode it), with quality from 10% to 100% for lossy formats. The limit is 50 MB per file and about 268 megapixels for the final image.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image without distorting it?
Leave “Keep aspect ratio” on. When you type the width, the height is calculated automatically to preserve the original shape.
Can I resize lots of photos at once?
Yes. Add all the images; with the aspect ratio on, each one fits inside the given width and height without distortion, and you can download them as a ZIP.
Can I enlarge a small image?
Yes, up to 400% in percentage mode or by typing a larger size in pixels. Keep in mind that enlarging doesn't add detail and the image may look less sharp.
What size should I use for a web image?
For full-screen photos 1920 px wide is usually enough, and for images inside an article between 800 and 1200 px. Combine it with WEBP so they weigh less.
