What is Create GIF?
An animated GIF is a sequence of images that plays automatically, ideal for showing a before and after, a short tutorial or a fun animation. With this tool you turn your photos or screenshots into a GIF in a few steps.
You arrange the frames by dragging, decide how long each one is shown and whether the animation loops forever. You can preview the result before downloading.
How to use it
- Drag in the images that will make up the animation.
- Put them in order by dragging the thumbnails.
- Set the delay for all frames or adjust each one individually.
- Choose the size, the fit (contain or cover) and whether it loops.
- Click “Create GIF” (you need at least two images) and download it.
Advantages
- Individual delay for each frame, as well as a global one.
- Separate palette per frame for better colors.
- Up to 120 frames and 1200 px per side.
- No watermarks and no sign-up.
Technical details
Encoding uses gifenc in a Web Worker. Each frame is quantized to its own 256-color palette, which improves the result when different photos are mixed. The delay ranges from 20 to 10,000 ms per frame (20 ms is the minimum viewers respect). Size is set by the longer side, from 64 to 1200 px, and the aspect ratio is set by the first frame; the rest are fitted in contain mode, with a background color for the margins, or cover mode, cropping any excess. The animation can loop indefinitely or play once. Up to 120 JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, BMP, GIF or HEIC images of up to 30 MB each are accepted.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make a GIF from several photos?
Add the photos, put them in order, adjust the speed and click to create the GIF. Then download it directly.
How do I change the GIF's speed?
Adjust the delay in milliseconds: fewer milliseconds means faster. For example, 100 ms is 10 frames per second.
Why is my GIF so large?
GIF is an old and inefficient format. Reduce the longer side or the number of frames to make it smaller.
Can I make the GIF play only once?
Yes. Turn off “Loop” and the animation will play just once.
